What is a psychological clinic?

"The Psychological Clinic is the training facility operated by the Psychology Department of the University of South Alabama. The mission of the Psychological Clinic is to provide professional, low cost mental health services to the Mobile community. In the clinic, Clinical and Counseling PhD students receive supervised experience while providing psychological services. We endorse a scientist-practitioner model, use formulations based on both the bio-psycho-social model and wellness/resilience model, and train in evidence-based practices. We provide individual, family, couples/marital, group, and parent-child interaction (PCIT) therapies. We also provide assessments for the following: Autism Spectrum Disorder Evaluations, Psychoeducational Evaluations for Learning and Attentional Disorders (LD/ADHD), Neuropsychological Evaluations, Gifted & Talented Evaluations, Psychological Evaluations, and School or Family Observations. Some psychological services are provided directly by licensed Clinical and Counseling Psychologists. Because we are a training clinic, we can provide patients/clients with professional, confidential psychological services based on a reduced-cost sliding fee scale. Therapy service fees range from $5-$25 per hour, and $200-$450 for evaluations. We value the differences and similarities among people, and respect the multiple identities, backgrounds, and needs of the clients and communities whom we serve."
