Equitable treatment refers to an individual, whereas equal treatment is an ideal for the masses. For example, you would not treat an 80 year old man, the same as a 16 year old girl. Without stereotyping, say this 80 year old man has dementia and is in a nursing home, he can’t go to the toilet alone or bathe himself without supervision?
