Does Apache make ammonium nitrate?

Later, Apache broadened its product line to include ammonium nitrate, nitrogen-based fertilizer products, blasting agents, and nitric acid. Today, Apache manufactures various forms of ammonium nitrate and nitric acid.

When did the EPA take action at Apache National Park?

1990 – 1994: The site was formally listed on the (NPL) on August 30, 1990, and EPA issued a unilateral administrative order to Apache in December 1994 to conduct remedial design/remedial action activities under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA).

When did Apache start supplying bottled water to nearby residents?

In 1989, Apache began supplying bottled water to nearby residents whose drinking water wells were contaminated with nitrate.

Are there heavy metals in Apache National Park?

In 1980, the EPA found high levels of heavy metals (such as lead, chromium, zinc and strontium) in some of the on-site ponds, and ten shallow aquifer wells downgradient from Apache were found to contain nitrate at concentrations up to 470 mg/l.

How many houses are there in Apache Powder?

The eight houses, the hospital building, and the park were designated as the Apache Powder Historic Residential District and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. Seven of the houses are in the Craftsman Bungalow architectural style, the dominate style of the district.

Where is Apache Nitrogen located?

It occupies a historic location in Cochise County, Arizona, and is one of the county's largest employers. The company changed its name to Apache Nitrogen Products in 1990.

When did the EPA finalize a treatment plan for contaminated water?

The EPA finalized a treatment plan in 1994 which called for contaminated water to be pumped out and evaporated, as well as some treatment via wetlands and aquifer recharge. Contaminated soils were either contained on-site and capped or excavated and removed to off-site disposal.

Types of Configuration Section Containers

There are two basic types of containers. Most containers are evaluated for each request. The enclosed directives are applied only for those requests that match the containers. The <IfDefine>, <IfModule>, and <IfVersion> containers, on the other hand, are evaluated only at server startup and restart.

Filesystem, Webspace, and Boolean Expressions

The most commonly used configuration section containers are the ones that change the configuration of particular places in the filesystem or webspace. First, it is important to understand the difference between the two. The filesystem is the view of your disks as seen by your operating system.

Virtual Hosts

The <VirtualHost> container encloses directives that apply to specific hosts. This is useful when serving multiple hosts from the same machine with a different configuration for each. For more information, see the Virtual Host Documentation.

Proxy

The <Proxy> and <ProxyMatch> containers apply enclosed configuration directives only to sites accessed through mod_proxy 's proxy server that match the specified URL. For example, the following configuration will allow only a subset of clients to access the www.example.com website using the proxy server:

What Directives are Allowed?

To find out what directives are allowed in what types of configuration sections, check the Context of the directive. Everything that is allowed in <Directory> sections is also syntactically allowed in <DirectoryMatch> , <Files> , <FilesMatch> , <Location> , <LocationMatch> , <Proxy> , and <ProxyMatch> sections. There are some exceptions, however:

How the sections are merged

The configuration sections are applied in a very particular order. Since this can have important effects on how configuration directives are interpreted, it is important to understand how this works.

What is Apache sprayer?

Apache Sprayers offer a stronger, more flexible, better protected and lower-maintenance boom package. Better cushioning on the boom rack minimizes wear and tear. Boom wings break away when coming into contact with trees and other immovable objects, and spring back into place when the obstacle is passed.

Is Apache sprayer reliable?

Apache Sprayers Options. Our sprayers are reliable for many reasons, one being our lean manufacturing to build sprayers exactly the way you want them. That means we don’t force you to pay for the things you don’t want or need.

Overview

Superfund site

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has designated the site as a Superfund site due to pollution of hazardous material contaminations requiring a long-term response to clean up. The site includes approximately 9 sq mi (23 km ) or 945 acres (382 ha) and contains groundwater contaminated with arsenic, fluoride, nitrate, and perchlorate. In addition, soil is contaminated with arsenic, antimony, barium, beryllium, chromium, lead, manganese, nitrate, 2,4-DNT, 2,6 …

History

The company was incorporated in New Jersey in May, 1920, with Articles of incorporation filed with the Arizona Corporation Commission on June 11, 1920. Charles E. Mills, President, Valley Bank, promoted establishment of the company following WWI, enlisting support of regional mining companies. Mills banded together a group of assistants with necessary expertise to formulate planning. Following independent review, decision was made to proceed. This was a c…

Railroad

The plant operated a narrow-gauge railroad to move material around the complex. The length of track was 1.857 mi (2.989 km) in 1922. It was a three-foot gauge railway. Because of the risk of sparks causing an explosion in a dynamite manufacturing plant, freight was initially pulled by mules. The mules were later replaced with fireless locomotives manufactured by H.K. Porter Company. Apache Powder purchased seven of these locomotives, which could run for an hour o…

Incidents

In 1923, an explosion killed four workers and injured another. It was the first disaster since the plant opened. Five small buildings and a warehouse were destroyed.
In 1927, 3,000 lb (1,400 kg) of nitroglycerine exploded at the place destroying several buildings. The explosion was heard for miles but caused no injuries. An operator noticed a problem and initiated a warning system; he and other workers were able to run to safety before the explosion.

Historic district

The company purchased land in 1925, to provide housing for company management, from the Benson School District on West 6th Street in Benson, about 8 mi (13 km) north of the plant. Eight individual lots were sold to company officials, who had houses built (by unknown contractors). After a disagreement, the company purchased the lots back and then rented them to the employees at subsidized rates. Apache also build an "evacuation hospital" at 209 West 6th St. T…
