Can you take off a gas mask with SS13?

SS13's robust atmospheric system has been simplified, but you will still have to be wary of the air around you. To quickly check whether or not you can take off that gas mask, you can use an atmos analyzer or the built-in version on your PDA .

What is the true purpose of SS13's research?

The true purpose of SS13's research. It is a purple gas that is highly toxic and highly flammable, hence breathing plasma is a bad idea. It is the main ingredient in making bombs, powering the station and hellish station-consuming fires.

What is the normal atmospheric pressure of air in SS13?

Air in SS13 can be seen, strangely enough, as a 'watered down'-O2, with N2 being the water. Optimal atmospheric pressure for humans is 101.3 kPa. Due to the minimum of 16 kPa of O2, the pressure of 101.3 kPa cannot be changed too much without the situation becoming excessively lethal.

How to use nitrous oxide anesthetic tank for surgery?

A tank filled with Nitrous Oxide for keeping the patient unconscious during surgery to prevent him/her from escaping feeling pain. To set internals and make your patient sleep you need to first remove any item from their back. Once done you need to put a breath mask on them and then put the anesthetic tank onto their back.

What is the best medicine for suffocation?

Salbutamol quickly treats suffocation damage. Convermol very quickly heals suffocation damage, but deals a lot of toxin damage. Cryoxadone in a cryotube or a very cold environment heal most types of damage, including suffocation.

What happens if you are in an area without oxygen?

Being in an area without enough oxygen present will suffocate you.

How to unbuckle a patient in a stasis bed?

Now you have several options to choose between: Take the patient to a stasis bed. Drag the patient until on top of it, then click-drag the patient to the bed to buckle. Give the patient medicine and then click the stasis bed to unbuckle. Strap the patient to a stasis bed (like above).

What is the blue damage type on a health analyzer?

If you take 50 or more suffocation damage, you faint. On the Health Analyzer, it is the leftmost, blue damage type.

Does saline help with burns?

Saline-glucose solution heals burn slowly. Cryoxadone in a cryotube or a very cold environment heal most types of damage, including burn. Tomato juice can heal it very slowly. Aiuri patches (burn patches) will heal burn pretty well but don't use it too often on the same patient, due to long term side effects.

How many units of chems can a Medbay beaker hold?

Holds up to 50 units of chemicals, though larger beakers (100 units) also exist. Standard equipment for chemistry, but medbay has some as well. Click on another beaker or similar while the beaker is in your hand to transfer up to 10 units of chems into it. Click-drag its sprite into another beaker or similar to transfer as many reagents as possible into the receiving beaker. You generally can't examine the exact contents without using a spectroscopic goggles, a reagent scanner, a Reagent Extractor, or a CheMaster 3000 .

What are the packs in the Medbay?

Typically comes in four packs that contain styptic powder, silver sulfadiazine, epinephrine, and charcoal/anti-tox. These four packs are available from Cargo through Medical: Medical Reservoir Crates, appear in crates and on tables in Medbay on some maps, and sometimes spawn inside abandoned locked crates .

How to dissolve a pill?

Pills can also be dissolved in a beaker or similar container, converting their entire contents back into liquid form. To do this, either click on the pill with the container or click on the container with the pill. This can be useful for smaller doses, as some pills hold large amounts of chemicals - 50 units in most cases and up to 100 if a scientist has gotten their hands on a large beaker. Doses this high are not usually necessary - It's often not desirable or practical to administer a whole pill of calomel, for example.

What is a mini patch?

Mini patches hold less reagents, but are otherwise identical to regular patches. They typically come in mini-patch boxes. You can click on the box while it's in your hand to open it, and you can click on someone with the box open to apply a patch onto someone, without having to actually get it out.

How many units does a syringe move?

The syringe can be set to inject or draw and moves 5 units of chemicals at a time. Drawing from a person will take a blood sample. Neither are instant, unless the recipient is yourself. Total capacity is 15 units.

Why are DNA injectors rarely used?

In practice, however, they are rarely used because surgery is a relatively speedy affair and there are other ways (e.g. sedatives) to achieve the same effect. DNA Injector.

What is a cure pack?

Basic all-purpose cure pack. Something for the burns, something for the cuts, shock relief and some aspirin.

How to use a medical kit?

To use a medical kit, both hands must be free. Pick up the medical kit and select the empty hand. Now click on your kit and it should open like a backpack, with the supplies inside, which you can remove, place into your free hand and use. Useful for most cases (brute and burn damage) you will witness on the station.

How many biohazard symbols are in a toxic kit?

Toxin kits may come with 1 of 3 biohazard symbols instead of a cross ( ), but the contents should be the same.

How to operate cryogenics tube?

You can quickly operate the Cryogenics Tube without opening the menu with a few shortcuts. ALT + left click will toggle the doors, and CTRL + left click will toggle the power.

What is an empty dropper?

An empty dropper will store liquids from other liquid containers such as bottles and beakers. Once full, you can squirt the contents of the dropper at any target adjacent or below you, including other liquid containers, or on people's faces. Beaker. Found in: Medical Storage, Chemistry, Robotics, R&D Lab.

What is a surgical shear?

A type of heavy duty surgical shears used for achieving a clean separation between limb and patient. Keeping the patient still is imperative to be able to secure and align the shears. It dismembers a limb (or tail) after a delay (15 seconds by default).

How many chemicals are in sleepers?

Sleepers contain an unlimited supply of five different chemicals, which can be expanded with further upgrades. As of writing they cannot be built and are not found on the station, since they have been replaced with Lifeform Stasis Units.

Do burn treatment kits have cross symbols?

Burn treatment kits may have a flame symbol () instead of a cross, though the contents should be the same.

Does oxygen fuel fire?

Note: Keep in mind that oxygen fuels fire.

Can you top off a jetpack with regular air?

Note: Don't be tempted to top off your jetpack with regular air. You will have to increase your oxygen source’s release pressure, which will make it run out much faster, or else you will suffocate.

Can you repressurize a room with a gas canister?

Note: Due to the utterly alien will of eldritch Atmos gods semi-convoluted but slightly sensible atmos system, you can't just repressurise a room simply by sticking a gas canister in there, or else all the gas will collect and stay in that one tile. Instead, move the gas canister around the room from time to time and hope that the gas evenly distributes itself then.

Can you take off SS13 gas mask?

SS13's robust atmospheric system has been simplified, but you will still have to be wary of the air around you. To quickly check whether or not you can take off that gas mask, you can use an atmos analyzer or the built-in version on your PDA .

What is supply request?

The supply request console is typically public, and lets anyone request an order. Unless you use Buy privately, this console asks the requester to type a reason for each order. This reason appears on the supply console, where the request must be approved or denied. The requisition form printed is only used for documentation.

Can you upgrade drop pods in Bluespace?

Once Bluespace Travel has been researched, the cargo techfab will be able to print a Supply Drop Pod Upgrade Disk. Inserting this disk into the Express Supply Console will upgrade its drop pods by making their explosion size smaller, and making them automatically teleport out after landing. After upgrading you must unlock the console again and print a new beacon.

Guide to Atmospherics

This is the Guide to Atmospherics. When properly initialized, Atmosia can keep the station aired-up through nearly any emergency. Improperly initialized, it's a waste of space at best and an outright fire hazard at worst.

Atmospherics 101: Basic Theory, Layout, and Custodian of The Air

You, dearest atmospheric technician, have one main purpose: Keeping the station not too hot, not too cold, pressurized, and breathable. You might be able to synthesize difficult gases, but derelict this basic duty and you are not a good atmospheric technician.

Atmospherics 201: Gaseous Synthesis, Machinery, Further Theory, and Optimization

Let's start with some theory about the gases. Below are the different gases that can be found in-game.

Identification

Treatment

  • Suffocation
This is the first and most important to look out for. It is not visible on the body, but people suffering from it will gasp for air. If you take 50 or more suffocation damage, you faint. On the Health Analyzer, it is the leftmost, bluedamage type. Ways of getting damaged: 1. Being in an ar…
  • Brute
This is a straight-forward damage category. This is the far right damage type on Health Analyzer. Brute damage is visible, and limb-specific. Ways of getting damaged: 1. Being physically hit by almost anything does brute damage. 2. Some chemicalscan deal brute damage. Treatment: 1. S…

Using Stasis Beds, Cryogenics and Sleepers

  • Lifeform Stasis Units
These "Stasis Beds" can be found in medbay. They are constructable machines. You can buckle patients to them to put them into stasis. While in stasis they no longer bleed, no longer process reagents or diseases (good or bad), and their organs will no longer rot. Buckle badly hurt or dea…
  • Cryogenics Tube
Cryotube uses the fact that cryoxadone is effective at healing all types of damage, but only works in cold environments. Use it mainly to heal cellular damage, or if you're out of other options/unsure what to do. This is slow and forces the patient to sleep, so prefer using brute/fire patches for co…

Afternote

  • PLEASE NOTE In the morgue there are lights on the side of the trays. The red light means there is a dead body with no ghost occupying it. Green light means there is a body with a ghost in it, which means you should attempt to reviveit. The green light is normally accompanied by a beeping sound as well, which can be turned off by alt-clicking the tray. If you aren't serious about healing …
