Hope you find the things you need.I was in "F" Company 2/3/3 Apr.1965 to Oct.29,1965 Then transferred to "A" Company 1/1 at hill 22 till Dec.16th.home at Christmas.I sent for my personal records after filing a claim for PTSD in Feb.2010.My DD214 only showed Armed Forces Exp.Medal,and National Defense Medal.I was able to get mine updated and it had some more medals and the Combat Action Ribbon.I thought i was awarded the (CAR) for Oct.30th.but the letter stated i was awarded the (CAR) on .Apr.26,1965.I thought i was going to need the CAR for stressor in the PTSD claim.Instead the buddy letters did the trick before i got the letter from the Department Of The Navy saying i rated the CAR i had my C&P five days prior to the CAR letter.So buddy letters do help alot..
