Most warts require 1 to 4 treatments, with 1 to 3 weeks between each treatment. There are over-the-counter products to freeze warts. These products are less powerful than liquid nitrogen.

How often should I freeze my wart?

This treatment is called cryotherapy or cryosurgery. This is a two-step process that does not hurt the skin around the wart. Applying liquid nitrogen to the wart causes a little discomfort. To completely remove a wart, the treatments may be needed every 1 to 3 weeks for a total of 2 to 4 times.

How long should I wait to freeze a wart again?

Most warts will need to be treated several times, waiting 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. The number of treatments depends on the size of the wart and how well the wart responds to the treatment.

Be patient as it takes up to 12 weeks to get rid of warts. One will need a bottle of wart medication like Occlusal-HP or Compound W, a roll of 1-inch surgical tape ('Micropore' or 'Blenderm' are good) and a pumice stone or emery board. The wart should be soaked in warm water for 10 or 15 minutes.

Can you use Compound W more than twice a day?

Official answer. According to the official instructions, you should keep applying Compound W Liquid one or two times per day until the wart is removed for up to 12 weeks. This would suggest the time it takes is related to the thickness of the skin in the area the wart is formed.

Should you cover a wart after using Compound W?

You may cover the area loosely with a bandage. Repeat this procedure 1 to 2 times daily for up to 2 weeks for corns and calluses and 12 weeks for warts or as directed by your doctor.
