I was sexually harassed by a woman at work. I reported her to her male superior and I was crucified

I was hired to work in a profession where more men are needed, simply because many women do not want to do some of the work involved.

This subreddit is heartbreaking

Hi, I’m a female and randomly stumbled onto this subreddit, when I first saw it I was just curious what kinds of things were talked about in here. But I’ve been scrolling for like 2 hours straight now just reading and reading and reading and I feel terrible.

Male Genital Mutilation. Let's call it what it is

After reading a recent article on "FGM or Female Genital Mutilation" it is time we call male circumcision what it is. Male genital mutilation should be a crime. My wife and I made sure to keep this horrible practice from our boys.

My thoughts on the call for a sex strike in Texas to protest the new abortion law

It shows that women believe that the ONLY Power they have or more accurately the most powerful thing they 'possess' is the power of sex, which is something that feminists have been supposedly fighting for decades. Yet, it is their first GO-TO thing to make social change.

Tesla vehicles are poorly engineered vehicles wrapped in fancy trim

It amazes me how quickly we decided to crown Tesla as well made cars. They are riddled with problems. Have several very poor design issues and are consistently near the bottom of the reliable vehicle lists.

Children's shows nowadays are absolutely horrendous compared to waht I watched as a kid

I had to watch some cartoons when I visited my younger cousin. Both the animation quality and the subjects presented have taken a nose dive as if the Bogdanof twins told the production teams to "dropeet".

I prefer to shop and eat at places where the workers are talking and laughing amongst themselves

When all the staff are acting like fake happy automatons, it's just so off putting. Many stores would just seem so much warmer and friendlier if they allowed their workers to act human. I don't mind it the extra minute it might take for me to check out so two workers can finish their conversation about the game last night or whatever.

The Olympic Games should be held in Greece and Switzerland permanently. There is no longer any reasonable excuse for the corruption and waste the current host selection process enables

The current selection process is infamously riddled with corruption and leaves massive abandoned construction sites with and extremely short-term pay off. An Oxford study shows hosting the Olympics carries the same economic risk as a terrorist attack or natural disaster.

Making special requests at a fast food restaurant is bullshit

It's fast food. It exists to get food out fast, not cater to you. There's actually a group that will cater to you. They're called caterers.

Sound of Silence by Disturbed is one of the worst covers ever

How to be tonedeaf and show you dont understand the meaning of a song. The bombastic voice and instruments make a mockery out of the whole meaning of the song. Someone surely was "hearing without listening"... Side-irritation: if you Google "Sound of Silence" it says "song by Disturbed". The fuk, Google..

Where are you a regular at?

When I moved to Brooklyn a few years ago after college, one of my first meals was at a no-frills takeout sushi spot near my Airbnb. I had just discovered how much I liked sushi, owing to a childhood of not great quality seafood, so I ate there quite a bit.

Where are you finding community in these times?

My circle of acquaintances was already dwindling before COVID. Friends moved away. Work was isolating. Needless to say it got much worse recently. I keep reading that community is so important to health and well-being. Chatting to the bodega guy now is like a ray of sunshine.

What do you love and hate about your NYC neighborhood?

I've been living in Tribeca for a bit and I'm thinking of switching it up. I have some ideas of neighborhoods, but I'd love to hear what people have to say about their neighborhoods, since I obviously can't visit EVERY neighborhood. I feel like it'll also open me up to what people like or dislike that I might not been even thinking of.

Donate a lot of books?

My grandfather died of covid a couple weeks ago, and we are cleaning out his apartment. He has a ton of books, lots of biographies and old history books but all kind of other things. Is there anyplace that would want them? Bonus if they will pick them up but we have a car and can bring them someplace if needed

How to build a social life as a lawyer?

My gf and I (both 29) work almost 12-14 hours a day but get sometime off during the weekends. We are usually back at our work desks by Sunday evening. Been living in the city for almost 2 years but now fear we are running out of time to have a social circle.

How much do you pay for your Christmas tree?

There is only one guy selling trees within a few blocks of my apartment and this modern day oil Barron knows he’s the only game in town so the son of a bitch is selling 3 foot trees for $99! I have never had a tree before but I know this is highway robbery! How much do you pay for your tree
