Why should women receive special treatment?

Women DO get special treatment. I’m saying this as a woman, but I really don’t understand why feminists try to brainwash all women into thinking we’re an oppressed gender when, in fact, being a woman in the western world puts you at an advantage. Not once in my life have I ever felt victimized or been at a disadvantage because of my gender.

Can you have it better-equality or special treatment?

Some women want true equality and those women I support. However, the women that want special treatment I have no time for. If a woman wants equal rights she can not expect a man to feel obligated to give up his seat on the bus or go out of his way to open a door for her in public just because she is a woman.

Do women just need more time to give consideration?

Mar 08, 2016 · The Army needs to recognize this as an unequal condition. Women now get 12 weeks of maternity leave by regulation and are non-deployable for 6 months if they’re pregnant. Men can’t get pregnant and get months of paternity leave when they’re doing their combat jobs. In fact, men only get 14 days of paternity leave, and that’s not equal.

Because gender-specific treatment for alcohol and addiction rehab is so important, the United States has changed the way women are treated for addiction. Medical professionals are dedicated to ensuring that addicted women are given the help they need to recover from their substance abuse disorder.

Why is gender specific care important in addiction?

Let’s take a look at one of the reasons why. Women tend to have lower body weight and a higher body fat percentage than men. Their reproductive organs themselves contain quite a bit of body fat. This physiological difference will need to be taken into account in recovery.

What is the focus of gender specific addiction treatment?

What are the co-occurring disorders of women?

As mentioned above, many women who need addiction treatment struggle with some co-occurring disorders. Often, the co-occurring mental health disorder may have prompted the alcohol and drug abuse in the first place. For example, someone who is struggling with depression may use drugs or alcohol to self-medicate. These substances may balance out the neurochemicals in the brain to create a more neutral or positive emotional experience. Many women who struggle with addiction have also dealt with some trauma. This can be anything from childhood trauma, physical trauma, or sexual trauma. Studies show that many women who are addicted to drugs and alcohol may have used substances to cope with traumatic events.

Why do women have longer periods of time to recover from alcohol?

A woman’s body will actually store substances in fatty cells and tissues for longer periods of time. Due to this reason, alcohol and drugs tend to have a longer effect on women. It also tends to take longer for their body to metabolize and remove these substances completely. These differences cause women to develop substance use disorders (SUDs) at a much quicker rate than men. Women also tend to have higher relapse rates. As a result, a gender-specific treatment program for women must have a very strong and strict relapse prevention plan. Women may require longer outpatient services or may benefit from sober living arrangements.

We need to acknowledge ugly people exist, rather than saying things like "all people are beautiful"

Ugly people exist and usually, know they're ugly. As do average people. Fake platitudes about how certain people are "beautiful in their own special way" don't really benefit anyone.

I love the world we're living in today

I know it's not super unpopular but so many people are pessimistic and fired up. Some even joke about this being the darkest timeline. But damn I love this shit.

Highschool students who can't drive or take themselves to school shouldnt get detention for any late that's not in 2nd - 7th period

I just got detention for always being late to first period. I totally understand the want to teach us the importance of not being late, but I'm never late to 2nd-7th period unless I'm like taking a quiz in the previous class.

Diets absolutely do work, you just weren't consistent or disciplined enough to stick to it

You'll see a bunch of morons online stating that diets don't work and that "diet culture" is toxic, that people should eat whatever they like and not worry about anything.

Sex workers should be legalized, given protection under labor laws, and not frowned upon because of their occupation

Women's or Men who decide they would like to charge people to engage in sexual encounters should be legalized (if its legal in your country, sweet!) and not looked down on for the services they provide.

24h time is much better than a 12h time

For whatever reason, I never got used to the 12h time. It's confusing. I don't understand why most people use it instead of the 24h one. It's much easier and there's no need for the whole am and pm bs.

Boiled peanuts can go fuck themselves sky high
