Day treatment is offered as a step down from residential treatment for adolescent clients ages 14 to 17. Day treatment provides structure, support, and continued skill building for teen clients returning home to their families and communities.

What is Dayday treatment?

Day Treatment is designed to meet the mental health needs of youth (ages 7 to 18) who are exhibiting severe emotional or behavioral issues at home, in school, or in the community.

How is the day treatment program funded?

The Day Treatment program is funded in part by Medical Assistance, private commercial insurance, client fees, third-party payers and Brown County Case Management. Now Accepting New Referrals! Is Dayday treatment service certified by DHS?

Day Treatment Service is certified by the Department of Health Services (DHS) under Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter DHS 75.12.

What is the process of getting into day treatment?

Getting into Day Treatment is a process which includes paperwork that must be completed by parents or a guardian and medical providers. Day Treatment staff will facilitate completion of all paperwork that is necessary. Do you do schoolwork there? No we do not.

What is day treatment?

Day Treatment concentrates on the emotional and behavioral problems of the child; however, some schools will provide online work or send packets home to help the child stay up to date. This is completed at home outside of Day Treatment hours.

Who can refer a child to day treatment?

Any provider or parent/guardian can refer a child to Day Treatment. A provider or parent can call 433-3372 ext. 100 or ext. 131 and provide the initial demographic and reason for referral information to the program assistant or program manager.

What are the services of a psychiatric therapist?

Services for youth and families may include: 1 Therapy and education focused on issues such as the impacts of trauma, family relationships, substance abuse, sexual abuse and health-related issues 2 Specialized training groups for self-esteem, depression, anger management, parent/child relationships, truancy, school skills, social skills and more 3 Psychological evaluation and testing 4 Psychiatric consultation, evaluation and/or medication monitoring

Who is considered a candidate for day treatment?

Youth who are transitioning from a higher level of care, such as inpatient hospitalization or residential treatment, are also candidates for the Day Treatment program. Day Treatment accepts referrals from parents, schools, social workers and medical professionals.

What is a therapy and education?

Therapy and education focused on issues such as the impacts of trauma, family relationships, substance abuse, sexual abuse and health-related issues. What is day treatment for mental health?

Day treatment for mental health, sometimes called partial hospitalization program or PHP, is often the best next step after completing a residential mental health treatment program. Most Skyland Trail clients, both adults and adolescents, who admit to our residential treatment program step down to our day treatment program as their skills and symptoms improve. Adult clients stepping down from residential treatment to day treatment may also participate in our transitional housing program if approved by their treatment team.

How long do you stay in residential treatment for a 14 year old?

Adolescent clients who admit to the residential treatment program typically stay at the residential level of care for 8-12 weeks before stepping down to day treatment/IOP. Contact admissions for more information about adolescent continuing care through day treatment.

How long does a person stay in day care?

Adults ages 18 and older who admit to the day treatment program typically stay in the day treatment level of care for about 6 to 8 weeks before stepping down to our intensive outpatient program (IOP), which offers a slightly shorter day.

Prior to admission, Skyland Trail can administer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to prospective clients who are beginning the admission inquiry process if they have not yet received any doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Description

A day treatment service is a medically monitored, and non-residential substance abuse treatment service which consists of regularly scheduled sessions of various modalities, such as individual and group counseling and case management, provided under the supervision of a physician.

Instructions

According to Chapter DHS 75.03 (2) (c) (link is external) – Determination. Upon receipt of a completed application for certification DHS shall review the application for compliance with this chapter, which may include an on-site survey. Within 45 days after receiving a completed application, DHS shall either approve or deny the application.
