How Long Will I Stay in Residential Treatment?

Because each person is different we can’t say. We can say that completion of treatment goals determine how long you will be in our services. Your progress is ultimately what determines how long your stay lasts.

What Will I Experience During Residential Treatment at Serenity?

The Serenity Residential Treatment program is a 24/7 structured environment. This means you cannot leave unless it’s for a court order or medical issue. Your entire day is planned out for you and designed specifically for recovery. Everything you do each day will is to increase your chances of a successful recovery.

What Types of Treatment & Programs Might I Experience?

Mindfulness and stress management practices are a form of meditation that teaches you quiet your mind to better navigate through stressful situations. Through breathing exercises you learn how to let go of destructive thoughts and thought patterns.

Residential Treatment Program Amenities

The Serenity campus consists of four different buildings and a total of 65 beds. Depending on capacity you will share a room with one or two other guests. Three daily meals are provided (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The campus has an outdoor walking track, and for those who wish to work out in a gym we have a partnership with local YMCA.

When did Smith Agency open Serenity I?

1994: Smith Agency open Serenity I, an RCCF (Residential Child Care Facility for 8 children) with administration being housed at the country house.

Who is the founder of the Smith Agency?

Smith Agency/Serenity started with a beautiful baby boy with curly dark hair and big brown eyes. The name "Smith" came from its founders, William Sr. and Terri Smith. "Serenity" is the peace parents finally feel when they find the right place for their forever children.

What is Serenity III?

1997: Children were becoming adults, and we could not give them up, so Serenity III opens. Serenity III is a PCA (Personal Care Alternative). It is a 3-bed residential home with a yard, car, private room and staffed with rotating staff.

Why did the Smiths move?

1991: Smith have to move due to lack of room for the kids to play both inside and outdoors. The Group home and Smiths move to an old country home which serve as an office and County Group Home with lots of room for children. More children come on board.

When did Serenity V come out?

2003: Smith Agency opens Serenity V, a PCA for women, and Serenity VII, a PCA for men.

When did Smith Agency buy Evans?

2012: Smith Agency purchases the two story building next to the administration offices on Evans to accommodate the growing Adult Day Program.

Is Smiths a non profit?

1992: Smiths form a non-profit 501c3 agency and found professionals willing to serve on their Board of Directors. Three of the founding Board of Directors are still active Board Members 21 years later.

What is Serenity House Health?

During their time at Serenity House Health, clients receive therapy in numerous settings. One-on-one counseling lays the groundwork for future change. Therapists and counselors work with clients to help them understand the underlying causes of their addiction. Professionals also employ psychotherapy approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in order to transform negative behaviors and thought patterns.

Does Serenity House offer detox?

At Serenity House Health, we offer a variety of addiction treatment services to help individuals progress toward sobriety. While most people start their journeys with detox programs to overcome their chemical dependence, the path to lasting recovery is much more involved. In order to set a solid foundation for sobriety, we recommend that clients transition into residential treatment following detox.
