On Monday, Newark launched $23 million in new upgrades at the Pequannock Water Treatment Plant. The city-owned plant is located at 2224 Paterson-Hamburg Turnpike in West Milford. It treats water that is piped to Newark residents and businesses, as well as several nearby towns that purchase water from the city.
Where does Pequannock get its water from?
The primary source of water for the Township is groundwater from the Buried Valley Aquifer, which is obtained from three wells located in the northern section of the Township.
Where are water samples collected?
Water testing samples are collected by the Health Department and tested at a certified lab. All test results are kept on file in the Health Department along with copies of test sites and dates.
