Alberto VO5® began as a conditioning hairdressing created by a chemist and a hairdresser, Alberto, in Culver City, California. VO5® stands for 5 Vitamin Oils (Sunflower Seed Oil, Mango Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Rosemary Leaf Oil, Chamomile Flower Oil) and was originally used to off-set the harsh conditions of Hollywood sound stages.

What is the best hot oil for hair?
We recommend coconut oil for the best hot oil treatment, as it is super nourishing and has been shown to prevent protein loss in the hair shaft. 1 Both virgin and refined coconut oil s work just fine. If you have other oils like olive, jojoba, or avocado, those are also extremely moisturizing. Keep in mind that olive oil may work best on very dry hair since it's a heavier oil. Jojoba is the most similar to the sebum that your scalp naturally produces, so go for that if you tend to be on the oilier side.
