How much oil thickens a can of 30W?
For the oil thickening, you don’t have to mix anything, pour anything into a running engine or jump through any hoops. A can of straight 30W motor oil is the same price as any other quart of oil. Two quarts will thicken the mix even more. Don’t work harder or expensiver; work smarter. If you have the CVCC engine; mine did well on five quarts of 30W and got 36 MPG highway. 1.8 engine in an 82 Accordion.

Can you use STP on a Plymouth?
I always recommend against STP, unless you have a wornout engine and you want to get one more summer out of it. I’ve never used STP since my student days car (57 Plymouth, well worn) and have not overhauled an engine since the summer of 1964. Modern oils have all the aditives you need. Fuel system cleaners (the ones that work)are a good idea every 30-40,000 miles or so.
What is STP oil?
STP is mostly an expensive bottle of Viscosity Improvers in a petroleum base; it increases oil viscosity. I'd hazard a guess at +20 SAE.
What is the problem with STP?
One possible problem with that: STP used Group I or II base oils, prone to oxidation in high-strung engines, and the VII chemicals in there have been said to be low-quality types as well. This could lead to extra piston deposits and varnish.
Is 10W-30 miscible in oil?
It absolutely is miscible in oil. 15 oz. of that product to 4 quarts should still be an SAE 30 unless the starting viscosity of the 10W-30 was at the upper range of the spec. In that case it would be a low SAE 40.
Does STP dissolve in oil?
The viscosity would be 10w30, with a gob of STP floating in the pan. Many tests on YouTube show that STP does not dissolve/mix in oil, so it would have no way of affecting the viscosity.
