We have been working with co-occurring disorders for more than 20 years and have experience in the treatment of complex and difficult issues.

What is medically managed detoxification?

Our medically managed detoxification consists of consultation with a medical provider, close nursing supervision, the regular monitoring of vital signs, and a medication protocol to manage the physical distress of withdrawal.

Accommodations

Located in Arizona’s Sonoran Desert, Cottonwood Tucson sits on 35 acres. The center offers its residents adobe-style living units complete with a pond, a garden, and a climbing wall present on the grounds. Each modest room has a bathroom and is shared by four residents.

Food

When it comes to food, the sky is the limit at Cottonwood Tucson. The meals are prepared by an award-winning team that takes inputs from the staff dietitian for creating healthier and tastier meals. Breakfast at Cottonwood can include steel-cut oats or omelets; options for lunch include various sautéed offerings and hand-rolled sushi.

Treatment Program

A CARF accredited treatment center, Cottonwood Tucson seeks to address a variety of behavioral disorders, which include substance misuse, PTSD, love and sex addiction, video game addiction, and spending addiction. Cottonwood Tucson also offers a treatment program for gambling addiction.

Staff

The treatment team at Cottonwood Tucson comprises a board-certified MD in psychiatry and addiction medicine, nurses, Master’ s-level therapists, a pharmacist, an acupuncturist, and licensed clinical social workers. Many members of the staff teach at local colleges and universities, like the University of Arizona’s School of Medicine.

Cost

Approximately $33,000 inpatient (30 days). Sweetwater Girls Program approximately $19,500 (30 days). Cottonwood accepts insurance from Aetna, Cigna, United, HealthPartners, and Value Options. The facility also has a tie-up with American Healthcare Lending, a third-party lender.
