Is Trinity a laser?

Are you referring to the Trinity device for at-home use, made by NuFace? It's important to note that this device is not a laser. It uses low level electrical current for "facial toning," and has an optional LED light attachment that is being marketed for "wrinkle reduction." This is not a laser, or even a medical-grade device, comparable to what would be found in your local cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon's office. While there is some evidence to suggest that higher-energy, in-office LED light treatments may provide slight improvement in skin texture in some patients, I'm very skeptical of the results promised by the office-based LED treatments, and do not offer them in my practice. I'm even more skeptical that a very low-energy device designed for home use will even replicate the modest results seen with the office-based LED devices. The evidence behind microcurrent technology for skin rejuvenation is even weaker. My recommendation would be to schedule a consultation with your local cosmetic dermatologist. Depending on your specific concerns, your cosmetic dermatologist should be able to tailor a skin care plan specifically for you including topical treatments and office procedures to keep your skin looking fresh!
