For removing floating algae, we recommend you use Blanketweed Klear. This is a granular treatment that you can apply directly on top of the blanket weed and works within 24 hours to kill it, meaning you can safely remove it after a day. To remove submerged algae, we suggest you use Algae Klear Xtra.

How do I get rid of blanket weed?

Blanket weed and other floating algae are easily removed by twirling them out of the pond with a cane but this will only be a temporary solution. All pond algae can sometimes be discouraged by floating a mesh bag of barley straw on the pond – about 50g of straw per sq m (1½ oz per sq yd) of water surface area is ideal.

How do I get rid of blanket weed in my fish tank?

How to get rid: Very simple – increase your fertiliser dosage and increase CO2 levels (use a drop checker like this one). Make sure your water distribution is really good – I know I say this every week but that's because it's very important.Nov 10, 2013
