If you’ve been considering medical aesthetic treatments, you’ve probably heard of PicoSure laser. You may have a specific type of treatment in mind or you may just be researching a variety of aesthetic treatments, trying to decide which would be best for you.

What is Picosure?

PicoSure, developed by Cynosure, uses picosecond technology. It is the first of a new generation of aesthetic lasers that don’t rely solely on heat for skin revitalization treatments, acne scars, wrinkles, and pigmentation issues such as freckles, sunspots, and discoloration.

Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal is nothing new but never before has it been so effective. For years, Q-Switched lasers were the gold standard in tattoo removal. The PicoSure laser has taken it to the next level. With picosecond technology, a high amount of energy can be released in an extremely short timeframe.

Acne Scars

The scars left behind by acne can be extremely challenging to reduce or eliminate. These raised, discolored marks are resistant to most skin resurfacing treatments, preventing any significant results. The PicoSure laser works in two ways to treat acne scars. First, the laser penetrates the skin to create localized areas of thermal damage.

Skin Rejuvenation

Even if you’ve never gotten a tattoo or had any more than a pimple or two, you may still be able to take advantage of the benefits PicoSure has to offer. The PicoSure laser provides effective skin resurfacing, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
