
What is a PHP retreat?
Here at Discovery Point Retreat in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, our partial hospitalization program (or “PHP” for short) is a vital part of our continuum of care. PHP is an outpatient level of care; however, clients receive the same therapies, services and structure as in residential treatment without 24-hour treatment and medical supervision.
How many hours of therapy does a partial hospitalization patient receive?
Clients in the partial hospitalization program receive eight hours of therapy a day, five days a week, but may continue tending to their responsibilities during the evenings and weekends.
What is partial hospitalization?
The partial hospitalization program traditionally provides an intermediate phase between residential inpatient treatment and intensive outpatient treatment. It’s an option that may also be beneficial for clients who are unable to commit to full inpatient care because of professional, educational or family obligations.
What is long term support?
Long-term support through outpatient levels of care — including a partial hospitalization program — can help extend the support and guidance of inpatient treatment while allowing one to experience independent sober living. However, not all recovery journeys follow a straight line.

Day or Night Treatment (PHP) allows you to build on the progress you made during residential treatment, and empowers you to practice your new skills in real-world situations.

If you’ve completed residential care but can benefit from continued support as you prepare to transition out of treatment, Day or Night Treatment (PHP) may be perfect for you. In certain circumstances, you may be able to enter treatment with us at the PHP level.

THIRA Health’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a first-of-its-kind approach, offering extensive treatment and support Monday to Thursday from 8:30am to 5:30pm, Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00am to 4:00pm — all within a safe, intimate community setting.

The four modules of group-based DBT skills training are mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These help patients focus on treatment and recovery so they can live their lives in positive, satisfying, and ultimately fulfilling ways.
Who is PHP for?
THIRA’s Partial Hospitalization Program is best suited for women, girls, and female-aligned individuals and girls who are facing challenges due to eating disorders, emotion dysregulation, depression, and/or anxiety that ultimately prevent them from living their life in a healthy way.

Retreat's program includes medically monitored detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and general outpatient on a daily basis. In addition, IOP is offered in the evening for those unable to attend during the day. We are here to help and accept most major insurances.
