What is special education day treatment?
The service is provided in a separate classroom or building, is designed to be temporary and is structured to improve the child’s behavioral and coping skills so that they can return to their community school within eighteen months. Day Treatment can be provided to students identified as Exceptional Children (EC), but this is not a requirement.
What is the day treatment program?
The Day Treatment Program continues to offer services to youth ages 7-18 and their families through virtual visits. Our therapists are providing daily virtual therapy groups for several hours. These groups allow youth the opportunity to interact with therapists and peers through a structured and therapeutic platform.

Who are the staff members of the day treatment program?
Our team includes a consulting child psychiatrist, a consulting psychologist, social workers, clinical therapists, a registered nurse and an occupational therapist. All services are provided at our location in Green Bay, WI. The Day Treatment program is offered Monday through Friday, year-round.

What is day treatment?
Day Treatment is the name of the service provided to children/adolescent’s whose behaviors are severe enough that it is making it difficult for them to function in a typical academic setting in their community school.
How many hours a day does DT operate?
The service operates no less than four days per week and three hours per day. This is a day service that shall be available year round for a minimum of three hours a day during all days of operation. During the school year, DT operates each day that the schools in the local education agency are in operation.
What is day treatment?
Day Treatment concentrates on the emotional and behavioral problems of the child; however, some schools will provide online work or send packets home to help the child stay up to date. This is completed at home outside of Day Treatment hours.

Therapy and education focused on issues such as the impacts of trauma, family relationships, substance abuse, sexual abuse and health-related issues. Specialized training groups for self-esteem, depression, anger management, parent/child relationships, truancy, school skills, social skills and more.
What are the services of a psychiatric therapist?

Who is considered a candidate for day treatment?
Youth who are transitioning from a higher level of care, such as inpatient hospitalization or residential treatment, are also candidates for the Day Treatment program. Day Treatment accepts referrals from parents, schools, social workers and medical professionals.
Who can refer a child to day treatment?
Any provider or parent/guardian can refer a child to Day Treatment. A provider or parent can call 433-3372 ext. 100 or ext. 131 and provide the initial demographic and reason for referral information to the program assistant or program manager.

What is Day Treatment?
Day Treatment is a facility based mental health service designed for children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 20 years. Day Treatment Services provide mental health interventions in the context of a treatment milieu.
Entrance Criteria
Must have an Axis I OR Axis II Diagnosis. The consumer must be experiencing symptoms/behaviors related to his/her diagnosis that impair functional ability in academic, social, vocational, community or family domains.
