The following heat sensitive items should be removed from the treatment area, stored in the refrigerator, or placed in a contractor 3 mil garbage bags:
  • Pressurized cylinders – Spray cans, Fire extinguishers, oxygen bottles, etc.
  • Firearms and ammunition.
  • Paints.
  • Adhesives.
  • Cigarette lighters.
  • All flammable chemicals.

What should I do with items taken out for heat treatment?

Any items (clothing, shoes, bags, valuables) taken out with occupant on day off heat treatment must be thoroughly inspected and/or sanitized before being reintroduced to treated area. Permanently dispose of all trash and unwanted items before treatment. Vacuum or sweep up dust/pet hair as they are hazardous to our equipment and personnel.

A eutectoid alloy is similar in behavior to a eutectic alloy. A eutectic alloy is characterized by having a single melting point. This melting point is lower than that of any of the constituents, and no change in the mixture will lower the melting point any further.

Hypoeutectoid alloys

A hypoeutectic alloy has two separate melting points. Both are above the eutectic melting point for the system, but are below the melting points of any constituent forming the system. Between these two melting points, the alloy will exist as part solid and part liquid. The constituent with the lower melting point will solidify first.

Hypereutectoid alloys

A hypereutectic alloy also has different melting points. However, between these points, it is the constituent with the higher melting point that will be solid. Similarly, a hypereutectoid alloy has two critical temperatures.
