The DOH, in conjunction with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and crime labs in New York State, developed a sexual offense evidence collection kit for the collection and preservation of sexual assault forensic evidence. In addition, a Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault (DFSA) kit was developed to be used only in cases where there is a suspicion of a drug facilitated sexual assault.
