Dry docking is pretty much up to what you believe, how long it should last and you keep doing it until the turtle heals up. Normally, for bigger turtles, you leave them out all day except for an hour or 2 hour breaks for food and to go potty, it could be much less if it isn't such a bad injury, could be left overnight.
