What is an IOP in Red River?

Red River Healthcare’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an outpatient addiction treatment program that allows the patient to receive treatment while living at home and continuing to attend work or school.

What is detoxification program?

Our detoxification program is led by medical professionals and is designed to slowly cleanse the patient’s body of the addictive substance in order to give time for healthy physical and mental adjustment.

What is a RRTC?

Red River Treatment Center (RRTC) offers short-term residential treatment as well as medically monitored detox services for individuals struggling with a substance abuse disorder. This state facility is operated by the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH), which was established by the Louisiana Department of Health, and offers gender-specific therapies to residents in the Pineville, La. area. RRTC is just one of 10 detox centers offered by OBH in Louisiana. Additional locations are in West Monroe, Albany, Shreveport, Bayou Vista, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans.

Is RRTC a state funded program?

However, RRTC is a state-funded program, and many similar programs can find funding for those that cannot afford treatment. It is also likely that a wide range of insurance policies will be accepted based on the program’s affiliation with the state government.

What type of interaction can I have with my loved ones while in treatment?

We understand the important role that family members can play in the recovery process, and we encourage healthy interactions among loved ones when possible and appropriate.

Am I allowed to smoke?

Yes, our adult patients are allowed to smoke during specific times in designated areas. Each unit’s schedule includes times for smoking breaks.

What types of disorders do you treat?

Red River Hospital is prepared to provide comprehensive services for people who have been experiencing a wide range of mental and behavioral health challenges. The following is a partial list of the more common disorders that we treat:

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we do. We accept all major managed care insurance plans, as well as Medicare and CMO Medicaids (including Amerigroup, Cenpatico, and Wellcare).

What ages do you treat?

Our child and adolescent programming is designed for young people ages 12-17. Our adult units accept men and women age 18 and above. We also offer certain specialized services for older adults.

Am I allowed to leave whenever I want?

According to Texas state law, all patients age 16 and above have the right to request release from treatment at any time. For children and adolescents under the age of 16, this request must come from a parent or guardian. If we believe that you are a risk for harming yourself or someone else, we may pursue legal options for involuntary commitment.

What is the typical length of stay?

The length of your stay at Red River Hospital will be determined by several individual factors, including your age, which unit you are healing in, the nature and severity of your symptoms, and your treatment goals. A member of our admissions team can discuss length of stay options with you based upon these personal factors.
