Can Aspen HYSYS® simulate a crude oil distillation plant in dynamic mode?
The present work concerns the application of Aspen HYSYS®environment to simulate an entire crude oil distillation plant in dynamic mode. Considering a mixture of three crude oils and based on a deep literature review, distillation units are carefully designed to generate a rigorous and accurate dynamic simulation.
What is Aspen HYSYS used for?
In [1, 10], Aspen HYSYS®is used for the analysis of the operation of an atmospheric distillation unit of a crude oil refinery under a control structure. Furthermore, preflash and atmospheric columns of a real crude oil distillation plant are performed using ASPEN simulations in [8].
How is vessel volume defined in Aspen HYSYS®dynamic mode?
Additionally, due to condensers and reboilers (Fig. 3) require proper sizing to operate in Aspen HYSYS®dynamic mode, the vessel volume is defined by the total liquid out flow ̇
What is a process simulation of crude oil stabilization unit?
Process simulations of a crude oil stabilization unit are conducted using Aspen HYSYS V9.0 software to study the effect of the operating conditions which cause the production of off-specification product.
Abstract
Recently, a light oil from different formations is added to the existing crude oil stabilization plant to associate the production of crude which unfortunately not enough to release off all light components and as a results the true vapor pressure (TVP) exceeds the desired specification of 82737.1 Pa/12 psia for the exported oil.
