How much peroxide you will use depends a lot on how much iron and sulfur you are removing from the water as well as how much water your family uses. Typically we see 5 gallons (1 box) of peroxide last anywhere from 1-3 months.

This hydrogen peroxide comes in many strengths. Store-bought is 3%. That’s generally safe. The type that we use is, and we can ship safely, and still considered relatively safe, is 7%. Mainly because it’s safe to handle, it’s not hazardous. You can often find 35% commercial peroxide locally, and it is usually cheaper. Much cheaper, by the way.
