Personally, I think it's a question of balancing out how many oil treatments you do vs. how often you'll have to wash. Most people agree that the less you wash your hair the better, but it's difficult to go about with a head full of oil for days on end. So I usually do one or two deep oil treatments a week and CO wash them out the next day.

I do a WO wash six days a week and follow this with a very very light oil. I do a full oil followed with a shampoo and condition and that same very very light oil. My hair is only mid neck length and I use just a dab of my oil mix (on my page under hair care section). Just because it works for me does not mean it would work for anyone else.

Might be a bit much for a heavy oiling, S&D your splits cause they aren't going anywhere no matter how well you treat your hair, that way you don't loose much length but get the splits gone.

There is a possibility of over-conditioning (hair gets stretchy and needs more protein) if you do this every day or every other day. Olive oil is very heavy. I wouldn't do this more often than once or twice a week. It's just too much work and the law of diminishing returns starts kicking in.
