You have stated that you wish to take medication every day in order to reduce your risk of having herpes outbreaks and spreading the virus (to your sexual partners). This is known as “suppressive treatment.” The medication you have been prescribed is Acyclovir, which you are to take 1/2 Tablet 2 times each day (morning and evening).
