Can HIV turn into AIDS in 2 years?
HIV is a virus. It may cause AIDS after you've been infected for several years and it's weakened your immune system. Not everyone who has HIV will get AIDS. But the infection will advance to AIDS, usually in 10 to 15 years, if you don't get treatment with antiretroviral drugs.
Does it take 10 years to develop AIDS?

Can you have HIV for 20 years and not know?
Most people experience a short flu-like illness 2 to 6 weeks after HIV infection, which lasts for a week or 2. After these symptoms disappear, HIV may not cause any symptoms for many years, although the virus continues to damage your immune system. This means many people with HIV do not know they're infected.
