Why is my oil pressure low after restoring?

In the unlikely event there's an indication of abnormally low oil pressure after adding RESTORE, this is a result of too much sludge in the oil filter so it is best to change the oil & install a clean filter.

Why is it necessary to have a tight seal during a combustion power stroke?

Likewise, during the combustion power stroke it is necessary to have a tight seal to avoid combustion gas leaking past the piston rings. Poor combustion and blow-by not only waste fuel energy that robs engine power, it also burns off oil on the cylinder walls and contaminates the oil by producing soot and sludge.

Why is the seal between the piston rings and the cylinder wall good?

In a newer engine, the seal between the piston rings and cylinder wall is good enough to maintain proper compression and adequately seal during combustion. Over time the cylinders gradually wear out and fail to maintain maximum compression. To understand the mechanism of this wear, one must analyze what is happening on the microscopic scale.

Why is compression important in cylinders?

Why is cylinder compression important?#N#Optimum combustion requires a tight seal between the piston rings and cylinder wall in order to have maximum compression of the intake air/fuel mixture during the compression stroke.

You clearly don't either read the details of a product, off the website usually, or care enough about your vehicle, in my own unfounded opinion. The home American website states clearly in a paragraph "RESTORE contains detergen additives which can dissolve sludge and hold dirt particulates in suspension within the oil.

In doing so, vehicle owners can help reduce the amount of metal on metal contact.

How does age affect the engine?

As vehicles age, they become less efficient. Motor parts wear down, and the engine works harder to do what it once did. What’s more, factors begin to take their toll on the metal components that were once seemingly exempt from any form of adversity. Your engine may become louder, output more potent exhaust, the average MPGs may drop, or oil stains may appear in your driveway. If any or all of the aforementioned events occur, take them as a sign that your engine oil needs a little extra care and protection.
