The cells are designed to provide 14 to 36 day treatment and further reductions of organic materials. Solid components are broken down into simple organic acids, methane carbon dioxide, sulphide, ammonia, inorganic compounds, and water. The nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are dissolved and remain in solution for use in agricultural irrigation (ROSE 1999).
